In Matthew 25:1–13, Jesus tells the parable of the ten virgins, a story that illustrates the importance of being prepared and wise. Five of the virgins were wise, bringing oil for their lamps, while the other five were foolish, neglecting to prepare adequately. When the bridegroom arrived, only the wise virgins were ready to enter the wedding feast. This parable teaches us that our readiness for the coming of Christ is paramount.
